With so many different cookie recipes to choose from, the competition for our 2021 holiday cookie poll was fierce. Although options ranged from the classic chocolate chip cookie to more extravagant options like the linzer cookie, one cookie stood out among the rest of the batch and reigned supreme to earn the title of “The Ultimate Holiday Cookie in South Carolina.”
And the winner is...
The Sugar Cookie!
It’s no surprise that the sugar cookie came out on top. With a variety of ways to customize this holiday staple, it’s fun to decorate and even sweeter to eat.
The powdery white Mexican wedding cookie claimed the second-place title with 66 votes, and Santa’s favorite, chocolate chip, came in third with 63 votes.
