‘Dangerous’ McDonald’s worker captured after shooting of DoorDash driver, NC cops say
An “armed and dangerous” McDonald’s employee who went on the run after shooting a DoorDash driver has been captured, according to investigators in North Carolina.
Kevin J. Holland was found Friday, Dec. 27, near a Walmart in Spring Lake, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a news release. Spring Lake is about a 16-mile drive northwest of Fayetteville.
He has been charged with first degree murder in the killing of Samori Husamudeen at the McDonald’s on Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville.
Husamudeen, 25, came to the McDonald’s around 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, to pick up a food delivery and “got into a confrontation with an employee who then pulled out a weapon and shot him,” WGHP reports.
Details of what the two men were arguing about have not been released.
DoorDash issued a statement, calling the killing “a horrible and tragic crime,” WTVD said. “We stand ready to assist law enforcement in bringing the individual responsible to justice,” DoorDash told the station.
The operator of the McDonald’s on Santa Fee Driver also issued a statement, telling WNCN the restaurant staff is cooperating with the investigation and supporting its staff “with counseling resources.”
Fayetteville is about a 65-mile drive south from Raleigh.
