Three men slipped into McDonald’s kitchen and beat 18-year-old employee, NC cops say
Three men slipped into the back of a McDonald’s and beat one of the employees, and it turns out the victim is among the people being charged, according to investigators in North Carolina.
The attack happened just before 7 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 17, at a McDonald’s in Greensboro, about a 75-mile drive northwest from Raleigh.
Police said they’re trying to determine a motive.
“A preliminary investigation indicates a physical altercation occurred inside the restaurant between three individuals and an employee,” the Greensboro Police Department said in a news release.
“It appears that three subjects entered the kitchen area, approached (the employee), and began to assault him. It was during that altercation that (the employee) discharged a firearm.”
The 18-year-old employee was taken to a hospital for treatment, police said. Details of his injuries were not released.
Two of the three suspects in his beating have been arrested and a warrant has been issued for a third, police said. The three, who range in age from 18 to 20, are accused of misdemeanor assault and misdemeanor conspiracy, police said.
The victim will face charges pending his release from the hospital, including “assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a stolen firearm, carrying concealed weapon, and discharge in city limits,” police said.
A 35-year-old man also who works at the McDonald’s was charged with carrying concealed gun and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer, police said. Details of his involvement in the incident were not released.
