If you’ve ever wanted to sip and stroll on a wine tour, you can find one of the best of the best in North Carolina.

As part of the annual 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, USA Today revealed the top 10 wine tour companies across the country, with knowledgeable guides leading the way on fan-favorite wine tasting adventures.

Of all the popular wine experiences available in the US, one winery tour in the western part of the state was selected by an expert panel and voted as one of the best by readers.

For the third year in a row, Asheville Wine Tours ranked among the top 10 — coming in at No. 3 this year.

“Asheville has long been famed for its scenic beauty, but it’s also become a favorite amongst oenophiles for its surrounding wineries, vineyards and urban tasting rooms,” the report says.

“Operated by premier local transport service, Van in Black, Asheville Wine Tours lets you climb into a luxury SUV or Euro-style van and head out to some of the top local vineyards and wineries. They provide door-to-door service, the staff is comprised of certified wine experts, and all tours are customized.”

Following its original launch with smaller tours in 2018, Van in Black’s Asheville Wine Tours have expanded into a buzzing business for wine lovers in western North Carolina over the years.

According to the company’s website, most tours last between six to eight hours with stops at about three or four wineries or vineyards. Here’s a list of some of Asheville Wine Tours’ popular pit stops guests can plan to check out around the area:

Each tour is private and customizable; we like to say that we are helping you create your best day.”
