Bojangles fan favorite makes return after two-year hiatus. ‘Back by popular demand’
A Bojangles fan favorite vanished from menus two years ago, and now it’s back.
Bo’s Special Sauce returned to restaurants Tuesday, April 2, Bojangles said in a news release.
It re-joins the lineup of dipping sauces at the Charlotte-based chicken chain including creamy buffalo, BBQ and honey mustard, according to the restaurant’s website.
The special sauce is “sweet, tangy and creamy” and blended with herbs and spices, a product description reads. It last appeared on menus in 2022 but is staging a comeback, thanks to fans.
“Back by popular demand, Bo Sauce is now available in restaurants to pair with all your favorite menu items,” Tom Boland, chief marketing officer at Bojangles, said in the release. “Bo Sauce has been a fan favorite for years, and we are delighted to bring our signature sauce with a creamy, bold bite.”
Starting this month, customers can also buy Bo Sauce by the bottle at grocery stores across the Southeast including Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Ingles, KJ’s, Lowes Foods and Piggly Wiggly, the restaurant said.
Bojangles said it pairs well with the chicken supremes and seasoned fries.
