This North Carolina restaurant ranks among nation’s best — again. Why fans love it
A North Carolina restaurant ranks among the nation’s best places to enjoy a meal — again.
Steak 48 in Charlotte earned a spot on a list of “Top 100 Restaurants” in the country, according to findings published in mid-November.
To create the list, the restaurant reservation website OpenTable said it studied more than 12 million data points in the year leading up to Aug. 31.
“Restaurants with a minimum threshold of diner reviews were considered and evaluated by a compilation of unique data points, including diner ratings, the percentage of five star reviews, the number of alerts set, the percentage of reservations made in advance and direct searches,” OpenTable wrote in a news release.
What makes Steak 48 special?
Steak 48 was the only place in North Carolina to earn a spot on the list. The results might not come as a surprise, given the restaurant has been named a top place to eat in the past.
The restaurant also earned a spot on OpenTable’s best restaurant list in 2022. More recently, it ranked as the top steakhouse in North Carolina and the No. 1 place for fine dining in the United States, CharlotteFive reported.
Though Steak 48 has locations in five states, the restaurant at the Apex SouthPark shopping center in Charlotte was the only one that OpenTable named a nationwide favorite. On the website, customers raved that they received top-notch service and food.
OpenTable lists steak and seafood dishes among the most popular at the restaurant, which on its website said it was designed to serve “the highest quality USDA Prime steaks, highest grade Waygu selections from around the world including Japanese A5 and fresh fish and shellfish flown in daily.”
On its list, OpenTable didn’t put the top restaurants in ranking order but said California had 14 of them, the most of any state.
