Vice President Kamala Harris returning to NC with campaign trip to Raleigh

Vice President Kamala Harris plans to return to North Carolina on Wednesday as part of her final push before Election Day, the Harris-Walz campaign told The News & Observer on Sunday.

Harris will be in Raleigh, while her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be in Charlotte and Asheville that same day.

The campaign announced Monday that Harris will hold a rally. Find information about how to attend here.

This marks the Democrat’s 20th visit (and Walz’ fourth) to the state this election cycle.

Harris last visited Greenville on Oct. 13, where many waited hours to hear her roughly 25-minute speech inside Williams Arena at East Carolina University’s Minges Coliseum.

With less than eight days left to campaign, Harris and former President Donald Trump remain in a locked race, according to CNN’s final nationwide poll.

Conducted by SSRS, 47% of likely voters would support Harris; and an equal 47% support Trump, the poll found.

North Carolina is one of seven major battleground states. Early voting has already started and runs through Nov. 2. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
