Fired FBI Director James Comey told Congress in his submitted testimony that President Donald Trump repeatedly tried to get him to drop or redirect the Russia election case.

That testimony is months in the making, from the Republican primary, through Trump campaign advisers’ visits with Russians to the firing of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Here are the highlights of the past year that have led to this moment.
