A mom upset at the father of her child targeted him with her car and ended up running into “everything else in her path” but him, according to investigators in West Tennessee.

That included two parked cars and a house, the Covington Police Department said in an Oct. 22 news release.

The “road rage drama” happened around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 5, and started as a hit-and-run in the 400 block of Zion Street, police said.

“Officers arrived on scene to confirm that two parked vehicles, a grill, and a residence had been damaged. ... Witnesses were not able to provide a description or any information on the vehicle or driver,” police said.

“Analysts located a viral video of the crash and identified the suspected person driving a white Ford Taurus. In the video, a male was seen running up the street and then through the yard with the suspect vehicle chasing him which suddenly crashed into two parked vehicles and then across a yard, striking a grill and a residence. “

The man trying to out run the car was later “identified as the father of the driver’s child,” police said.

That information led detectives to a home on Howard Street, about two miles south of the crash scene, where a Ford Taurus was found, officials said.

“Detectives confirmed the damage to the white Ford Taurus was consistent with the damage at the scene,” police said.

Brittany Stewart, 25, was found at the home, too, and “admitted to her role in the crash and assault,” officials said.

She was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault, two counts of vandalism and driving on suspended license, police said. Bond was set at $75,000.

Investigators didn’t release details of what started the quarrel or how far the man was chased.

“When anger gets behind the wheel, it never ends good. It was a miracle no one was struck, injured or worse in this road rage event,” Covington Police Chief Donna Turner said in the news release.

Covington is about a 40-mile drive northeast from Memphis.
