Chick-fil-A fan-favorite returns after 13-year hiatus. Here’s when and what to know
A Chick-fil-A fan-favorite was missing from menus for more than a decade.
Now, it’s returning alongside another favorite.
Customers can get their first sips of the banana pudding milkshake at participating Chick-fil-A restaurants starting Monday, Aug. 26, according to the Atlanta-based chicken chain.
Launched in 2011, the hand-spun treat features vanilla soft serve blended with bananas and vanilla wafer cookie pieces. It’s then topped with a cherry and whipped cream.
It will replace the peach milkshake, a staple on Chick-fil-A’s summer menu, and will appear alongside the returning honey pepper pimento chicken sandwich, which debuted last fall.
It’s a spin on the original chicken sandwich, featuring honey, pimento cheese and pickled jalapenos. There’s also a spicier version for those who like a little heat.
“Every decision we make regarding our menu is extremely intentional,” Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said in a news release.
“Whether we are surprising our Guests with new flavors ... or taking classic items and bringing them back with a twist, each menu introduction is made after listening to their needs,” Duncan said. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring back two of our most popular picks this season!”
Both will be available for a limited time, though Chick-fil-A didn’t say for how long.
The fall menu also features a newcomer: banana frosted coffee. So what’s in it?
“The treat is a blend of cold-brewed coffee, the brand’s signature Icedream dessert, banana and vanilla wafer cookie crumbles,” according to a product description.
Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
