‘That’s not possible.’ Friends shocked when lottery ticket reveals big win in Washington
A man stopped at a store to buy a lottery ticket during a night out with friends in Washington.
He scored $500,000 from his late-night purchase.
The man from Renton bought a Loteria Super Grande Scratch ticket — a game he doesn’t normally play, Washington’s Lottery said in a Nov. 13 news release.
He scratched it the next day with his friend.
Then they both said “that’s not possible” when they realized he won the top prize, so they double-checked the ticket on the Washington’s Lottery app, lottery officials said.
But they still didn’t fully believe the big win until the man went to his sister’s house so she could triple-check his win.
Now the lucky lottery player has plans to give half of his prize to his sister, lottery officials said in the news release.
He also wants to put some money into savings for his daughters and some into his business.
Renton is about 15 miles southeast of Seattle.
