Injured puppy found abandoned at Indiana airport, officials say. Search on for owner
Officials in Indiana are looking for the owner of a puppy after it was found abandoned at an airport.
Speedway Animal Rescue named the small, fluffy white puppy Boeing, according to a Facebook post.
Boeing was found in a pet carrier at the Indianapolis International Airport near the Southwest Airlines ticket counters, according to a police report, Fox Business reported.
“My *guess* is that he did not have a health certificate and the owner had to make a choice,” Speedway Animal Rescue said.
The puppy is 4 to 5 months old and had an injury that was stitched and bandaged, the post said.
“If you are that owner, please contact us. You will not get in trouble. Your dog is safe, we just want information so that we can keep an eye on his injuries and better understand what he may need,” the rescue posted.
Boeing is neutered and does not have a microchip, the post said.
“It’s just important to us so we know, does this dog need pain medication? Did he finish his course of antibiotics?” the president of Speedway Animal Rescue, Anna Gerber, told WTHR. “What can we do to help? And what pieces of this puzzle can we put together?”
Boeing is currently being fostered until he is either reunited with his family or adopted to a new home, the news outlet reported.
