Bald eagle struck by vehicle on highway, then other drivers rush to help, CA cops say
Other drivers came to the rescue of a bald eagle injured in a highway collision with a vehicle, California Highway Patrol officers reported.
The bird was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 5 near Hilt, California, just south of the Oregon border on Tuesday, June 20, the CHP said on Facebook.
Other motorists rescued the injured eagle from traffic lanes and waited with it in their vehicle for assistance, officers said.
A CHP officer took the eagle to a wildlife rescue for rehabilitation, the Facebook post said. A photo showed the eagle in the officer’s patrol vehicle.
Photos taken in Palo Alto in May show a battered bald eagle that slammed into a home’s window, McClatchy News reported. The bird flew away as rescuers tried to catch it.
