This house in Illinois has a replica of a golf hole known worldwide. Check it out
Golf lovers in the Prairie State: You don’t have to venture all the way to Florida to sink a putt at one of the world’s most famous golf holes.
But you do have to have $560,000 burning a hole on your pocket.
A four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence in Ingleside, Illinois, with a replica of “the famous 17th hole, the Island Green, at the TPC Sawgrass golf course in Florida” has hit the real estate market.
Even though it’s not even 100 yards, the iconic Island Green in Ponte Vedra Beach has been one of the most photographed – and talked about – golf holes in history. Its famous memories include the time when Tiger Woods overcame a two-stroke deficit after a “better than most” putt at the hole in 2001, CBS Sports reports.
According to the listing on Realtor.com, the owner put in over $100,000 for the immaculate lawn. There are also “five tee boxes strategically placed for practice wedges,” the listing says.
Features inside the 3,913-square-foot residence include:
Floor-to-ceiling windows
Wood-burning fireplace
“Showstopper” primary bedroom
Storage space
Oversized garage
Walkout basement
New carpeting
“Here’s your hole in one and a rare find!” the listing says.
The home also caused a hullabaloo on the popular social media real estate page Zillow Gone Wild.
“Now THAT is awesome!” one person said.
“I’d turn that into a lazy river and make the walkway a bridge,” another said.
“Probably no gators in the lagoon though,” someone commented.
“Here’s the funny thing ... a half of a million dollars is a lot of money but really for THIS size house, on THIS size lot, with THIS kind of landscaping, this is a steal!” one person observed.
“Beautiful home and cool for golf hobbyists,” another said.
“I hope it comes with a ball retrieval tool,” someone joked.
“That house looks amazing,” one person commented. “I don’t golf though so it would be mom island .... no kids allowed.”
“This is actually pretty cool. I’m sure a golf lover would buy it,” another said.
Ingleside is about 55 miles northwest of Chicago.
