57-year-old woman mauled to death by multiple dogs, Alabama officials say
A 57-year-old woman was mauled to death by multiple dogs on the dog owner’s property, according to Alabama officials.
Ronda Persall died on May 22 after the attack by several dogs, Emily Niezer Johnston, an attorney with the Cullman County Commission wrote in a statement to McClatchy News. Cullman County is about 53 miles north of Birmingham.
“The dogs involved in the incident are confined and being tested during this ongoing investigation,” Johnston said in the statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.”
Officers with Cullman County Animal Control did not respond to requests for comment.
A friend described Persall as a “loud, loving Southern woman,” according to WIAT.
“We had to watch where we took her,” friend Carman Cupp said, per the news station. “She was loud. Anything was liable to come out of that little mouth. You’d hear Ronda coming before you saw her.”
Persall is survived by a son, daughter, three siblings and two grandchildren, according to her online obituary
