A New Jersey man was feeling lucky when he bought his third winning scratch-off lottery ticket.

Then he won millions.

The man, who has remained anonymous, bought his first $50 winning scratch-off ticket with coffee and a muffin, the New Jersey Lottery said in a March 25 news release.

Then his second lottery purchase won him $100.

After finishing his errands that day, he decided to buy one more scratch-off.

“Why not? I’m on a lucky streak,” he told the state lottery agency.

He stopped by a liquor store in Mount Holly and got his last ticket.

He thought he won $300,000, but when the clerk scanned the ticket it showed a $3 million win. The exact amount the winner took home after taxes was not provided by lottery officials.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.
