A distressed migrant was rescued via helicopter from the Baboquivari Mountains southwest of Tucson, Arizona, border officials said in a Jan. 13 news release.

The woman was severely dehydrated, and agents believed she was physically unable to continue walking, according to a video shared by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

An Air and Marine Operations Blackhawk crew from the Tucson Air Branch responded to a call from border agents, who asked for help in assisting the woman. The air crew was able to locate her near Baboquivari Peak, where they then conducted a hoist extraction of the woman and two agents who hiked to her location, the release said.

“This was another textbook rescue of a migrant in distress,” said Deputy Director of the Tucson Air Branch, William H. Robinson.
