A non-dairy frozen dessert sold at Publix, Fresh Market and Whole Foods might have milk
Three batches of Jeni’s Cold Brew with Coconut Cream Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert have been recalled because they might have a form of milk.
For most people, that’s no problem. But, as the recall notice written by Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams and posted by Publix states, “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.”
Publix posted the recall on Saturday. Jeni’s website says their products can be found in South Florida at Publix, The Fresh Market and Whole Foods Market.
On the bottom of the 1-point containers recalled, consumers will find batch codes 19-016, 19-086 and 19-154.
Jeni’s notice says, “The investigation is ongoing, but strongly suspect that a dry ingredient, used only in this flavor, came into contact with dairy powder as the dry ingredient was being produced for us in a partner’s facility.”
Anyone with questions can call Jeni’s at 614-407-1400.
