In a press release, Raleigh police said they were notified at 11:18 a.m. that a student was on campus with a firearm. As a result, the school was immediately placed on a Code Red lockdown that was later lifted.
The school resource officer requested additional officers to respond to the campus on Spring Forest Road in North Raleigh. The school resource officer took the student into custody.
Police said one firearm was found on the student. Millbrook High told families the firearm was loaded. Court records describe it as a Ruger P89, which is a semi-automatic pistol.
“The Raleigh Police Department takes student safety and the threat of weapons on school campuses very seriously,” the press release said. “We will continue to work with the Wake County Public School System to investigate the incident and ensure students’ continued safety.”

McIntyre is being held at the Wake County jail on a $100,000 bond.
The Wake County school system says McIntyre is a senior at Millbrook. He’s a member of Millbrook’s football team.
Families notified of lockdown
The school was placed on a Code Red lockdown after it received the report at 11:18 a.m. about the possible firearm on campus. By 12:40 p.m., the school retuned to its normal Code Green operating status.
“As a reminder, bringing a weapon to school is a very serious offense,” the school said on its website. “Any student who brings a firearm on campus faces a 365-day suspension, per state law, as well as potential criminal charges.”
Code Red is the highest lockdown state in the Wake County school system. No one is allowed to leave or enter campus until the all-clear is given by law enforcement.
The school said all students are safe.
