Former Enloe High teacher arrested on campus on trespassing, stalking charges
A former Enloe High School teacher was arrested on campus Tuesday afternoon on charges of trespassing, stalking and resisting arrest.
In a message to families, Enloe Principal Jacqueline Jordan said a community member came on the East Raleigh campus during fourth period on Tuesday. Jordan said the community member was very loud and highly agitated and was taken into custody before he entered the building or came in contact with staff or students.
Jordan didn’t mention the person by name. But arrest records show Joaquin Nelson, 39, of Raleigh, was charged by Raleigh police with four misdemeanors: two counts of stalking and one each of second-degree trespassing and resisting a public officer.
Nelson was a teacher at Enloe from September to December, according to Wake County school system records. Nelson’s Linkedin page lists him as having been an English teacher.
The arrest warrant shows Nelson is accused of stalking two school employees. Nelson is accused of harassing them by continuing to text them after being told on repeated occasions to stop.
Nelson was released from the Wake County jail. He has a court hearing in April.
