Man and woman found dead of gunshot wounds at Chatham County RV park

The Chatham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two people were found dead at Dickens RV Park in Moncure.

Deputies responded just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to a request for a well-being check at 2501 Corinth Road. A family member reported that they had not heard from the residents in several days.

Deputies found Randy Lee Smith, 64, and Linda Christine Smith, 63, dead from apparent gunshot wounds, according to a news release.

Preliminary findings suggest this was a domestic incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
