Three teens have been arrested and charged with killing a man in east Raleigh’s King Charles neighborhood last month, police said Monday.

Two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old have been charged with murder. Their names were not released because of their age.

Officers responded to reported gunshots fired around 1:55 a.m. July 27 near the Highgate Place apartment complex.

An additional caller reported hearing shots fired and a vehicle crashing into a tree in the 2400 block of Milburnie Road, police said in a news release.

At the crash scene, officers found Alejandro Troncozo inside the vehicle. He had been shot and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, police said.
