Man arrested after woman’s body found in woods near Raleigh, Wake sheriff says

A man has been charged with murder after the body of a 23-year-old woman was found in woods Monday near Raleigh, the Wake County Sheriff’s Office said.

On Tuesday, the Sheriff’s Office reported that Noa Najee Lorenzetti of Fuquay-Varina had been arrested and charged with the murder of Tyra Jalisa Bennett.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Office said they had found a woman’s body about 11:15 a.m. on the 3700 block of Camley Avenue, off of Blue Ridge Road not far from Crabtree Valley Mall.

Later that day, they reported that the investigation had become a homicide investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office did not provide details about Bennett’s death.

Investigators are still on the scene collecting evidence, according to a news release.
