The State Highway Patrol said it is investigating a fatal hit-and-run that killed an 84-year-old man in Durham County.

John T. Sullivan was struck Thursday at the intersection of Snowhill and Torredge roads in Durham by an unidentified car, according to a news release.

Officers responded to the collision around 6 p.m., the release said.

Sullivan was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The State Highway Patrol’s Durham County office said it is actively investigating this incident.

They are asking that anyone that may have witnessed this crash or can provide further information to contact the office at 919-560-6868.
