Man shot at North Hills shopping center Sunday night knows shooter, Raleigh police say

Raleigh police swarmed the North Hills shopping center Sunday night after one man was shot.

The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury, police reported in a news release.

Officers responded to the shooting at 4150 Main at North Hills Street around 7:20 p.m. The address is located at the middle of the shopping center.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting was an isolated incident and the individuals involved know each other, the news release stated.

There was no threat to the public at the North Hills Mall.

One person was detained and questioned by Raleigh police but no arrests have been made, the release stated.

Police released no additional information about the injured man or a possible motive for the shooting.

The investigation continues.
