Murder suspect at large in Durham shooting that killed 2 teens, injured 4 others
Police are looking for a 21-year-old suspect accused in a Durham shooting that left two teenagers dead and four others injured in December.
Keon Rayquan Beal has been indicted on two counts of murder and five counts of attempted murder, according to a Thursday news release.
Beal is not in custody, and Durham police have asked the public to come forward with any information on his whereabouts.
The shooting occurred around 3 a.m. Dec. 13 near the intersection of Mathison and Eugene streets, south of the Durham Freeway, The News & Observer previously reported.
Officers found a black Hyundai SUV crashed into a utility pole along with six shooting victims. Isaiah Carrington, 19, and Ariuna Cotton, 15, died in the shooting.
Four others, including a 13-year-old boy and three girls, ages 17, 13 and 12, were injured in the shooting.
Police previously said the shooting did not appear to be random.
The department said Thursday that the investigation remains ongoing and further charges are possible.
