A UNC-Chapel Hill student has been found dead in a dormitory.
Foul play is not suspected, UNC officials say.
The student died in Hinton James Residence Hall located on the southern part on of the university's campus. The dormitory typically houses many freshmen and sophomore students.
The news was released to the UNC-CH community Saturday night by Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Winston Crisp via the Alert Carolina system.

“We ask that you join us in keeping this student’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers,” Crisp wrote. “However, it is important to know that no suspicious circumstances are reported and at no time was there danger to the Hinton James or greater campus community.”
Counseling and Psychological Services staff members are available to students who may wish to speak with someone.
Crisp said, “The situation is under police investigation and the information we can share is limited.”
Officials did not release any details on the identity of the student.
