Police identify Durham man hit by three cars on highway

Police have identified a Durham man killed early Friday in a pedestrian-involved traffic crash in the 1300 block of N.C. 54 East.

The crash happened around 12:25 a.m. when an eastbound Toyota Corolla driven by a Cary woman struck the man, who was walking in the highway between Barbee Road and Goldenglow Road, police said in a news release.

The pedestrian, Ryan Williams, 40, was then struck by two more cars.

One was a Nissan Altima driven by a Raleigh woman, police said. The other, a white, four-door sedan, did not stop and kept going east.

Williams was declared dead at the scene.

No charges have been filed, but the accident remains under investigation.
