Police make arrest in Oct. 15 shooting death, city’s 23rd homicide of year
A man was arrested Thursday by Durham police in connection with a shooting death that occurred in mid-October.
Durham police arrested George Jamal McFadden Jr., 27, of Durham and charged him with murder in the Oct. 15 death of Robin Brodie.
McFadden was arrested at the Wake County jail, where he was awaiting trial on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana with the intent to manufacture, sell or deliver.
In October, police said Brodie, 28, was shot around 7:30 p.m. while inside a car on Keystone Place and taken to a hospital, where she died.
Brodie’s death was the 23rd homicide out of a total of 27 killings in the city in 2017 and one in Durham County. Four of the homicides have been deemed self-defense.
