Woman in parked car wounded in Durham drive-by shooting

Police are investigating who wounded a woman Sunday in a drive-by shooting in the 3000 block of East Weaver Street.

The shooting was reported shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday, according to police spokeswoman Kammie Michael. The 28-year-old victim was sitting in a parked vehicle when another vehicle pulled up beside it. The occupants of the second vehicle fired several shots at the victim’s vehicle, striking the woman once.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The other vehicle left the scene before officers arrived.

Police do not have additional details or information about possible suspects at this time, Michael said.
