Durham band Hiss Golden Messenger makes the late night TV circuit.

Durham band Hiss Golden Messenger performed on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” Tuesday, playing the song “Domino (Time Will Tell)” from their recent Merge Records release “Hallelujah Anyhow.”

The performance came before the band’s last stops on their 2017 tour. Recently, Hiss Golden Messenger announced 2018 tour dates with Bon Iver. The band expanded to a 10-piece unit for the Meyers show.

Hiss Golden Messenger is led by Durham musician, guitarist and songwriter M.C. Taylor. The Seth Meyers appearance was the band’s first since performing from the 2015 EP “Southern Grammar” on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” according to a Merge Records release.

In the past year, Hiss Golden Messenger has performed at the Newport Folk Festival, Pitchfork Music Festival, and Pickathon as well as headlining club shows. They have also opened for Jason Isbell and Mumford & Sons.

The band’s discography includes Merge Records albums “Lateness of Dancers” (2014), “Heart Like a Levee” (2016) and “Vestapol” (2016) in addition to “Hallelujah Anyhow.”

About the new recording, Taylor writes on his website: “Music took me and made me and gave me a purpose and I built my world with it, and now my geography is a musical one, forever. And when I break, when I think about running as far as I can, I remember that there is nothing that does me like music, and I might as well be a poor man in a world of my own devising. Hallelujah anyhow.”
