Molten iron pour lights up downtown Durham for 2nd year
1,500 pounds of molten 2,500 degree iron was poured into molds in a fiery display Saturday night at Durham Central Park.
The second annual Iron Pour was presented by Durham Central Park and Liberty Arts Sculpture Studio and Foundry.
In addition to the dazzling red-hot iron display, Liberty Arts artists work was for sale and food trucks, craft beer, a live DJ, raffles and live music were all part of the show.
Guests were invited to scratch and carve their own designs into hardened sand blocks and watched as they were filled with molten iron.
