Everybody loves a yard sale, right?
If you’re looking for a bargain and want to help a charity, the Durham Salvation Army is hosting a yard sale Friday and Saturday.
The sale will take place at 919 Liberty St. On Friday, it runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., while Saturday’s schedule runs from 8 a.m.-noon.
And what makes it is bargain bonanza, you ask? Everything for sale is $1.

Salvation Army spokeswoman Katherine Bellamy said the yard sale was a way to support the organization’s community mission.
“I think the yard sale will excite a lot of people,” Bellamy said. “We’re looking to provide support for our social services in the community.”
The funds generated from this sale will benefit emergency services, the food pantry and inner-city poverty programs that help with housing, resumes, and GEDs. Some funds also will help the Boys & Girls Club’s after-school literacy programs and summer programming.
According to their website, the Durham Corps provides assistance to more than 5,000 people each year.
“Hopefully, it will be a success and something that we can continue doing in the future,” Bellamy said.
