A Durham man was arrested on Monday following a workplace stabbing.
Durham police arrested Al Juwan Atwater on Monday for a stabbing that occurred at LC Industries, according to a Durham police spokesperson.
Durham police were called to the business off Emperor Boulevard near South Miami Boulevard around 7:30 a.m., according to police. When they arrived, they found an injured man who had suffered multiple stab wounds in his stomach. The victim, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
The confrontation, which occurred in a restroom, could have been avoided some company employees told Spectrum News. They said the injured man wanted to use the bathroom but it was still being cleaned by Atwater. After the pair became impatient with each other and exchanged words, that's when the stabbing occurred, they said.

Atwater was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was being held in the Durham County jail under $250,000 bail.
