Durham police said Wednesday that they arrested Malik Shackleford on Stadium Drive Tuesday afternoon. Shackleford was one of two suspects being sought for their alleged involvement in a 2016 armed robbery at the Subway restaurant at 2120 Avondale Drive.
The second suspect, Jaquantay Bullock, remains at large.
Shackleford was being held in the Durham County jail in lieu of $55,000 bond Wednesday.
In the incident in question, police said three males wearing red bandannas over their faces and armed with guns entered the Subway at 2120 Avondale Drive shortly before 11 p.m. on Nov. 13, 2016. The males took cash and a phone from an employee.
They were said to have fled in a Nissan Pathfinder that had been reported stolen in Alamance County.
Bullock, 21, and Shackleford, 18, were both charged in March with robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony conspiracy and possession of a stolen vehicle.
The third suspect has not been identified by police.
Anyone with information about the robbery or Bullock’s whereabouts is asked to call Investigator J. Walsh at 919-560-4440, ext. 29248 or CrimeStoppers at 919-683-1200.
