The Chatham County Fire Marshal is investigating after an explosion occurred inside a food truck at a Pittsboro music festival Thursday afternoon.

A propane gas leak caused the explosion at 12:30 p.m., county spokesperson Kara Lusk wrote in a news release.

Two workers who were inside the Stuffyman’s Vegan Stuff food truck were taken to the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center at UNC Medical Center.

One of the workers, Eric Zeigler, owns the truck, his wife told ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner. He has burns on 30% of his body, she said, and will receive treatment at the burn center for several months.

The N&O had not been able to find out the name or condition of the other worker, as of Friday afternoon.

Fire Marshal Billy Judson praised the Shakori Hills Grassroots Festival staff for quickly grabbing fire extinguishers before emergency personnel arrived.
