22-year-old crushed to death by machine at Clayton bread facility, town officials say

A woman was crushed to death in Clayton while working with a large industrial mixing machine, according to town officials.

The incident happened Saturday at a local Northeast Foods facility, said Nathanael Shelton, a Clayton spokesperson.

A 22-year-old woman died, he said.

Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration have been notified, Shelton added.

Northeast Foods manufactures buns, rolls and other bread products, supplying them to fast-food chains across the country, according to its website.
