Cary police have reopened Chatham Street downtown after a gas leak Monday afternoon.

The street was temporarily closed from the traffic circle to South West Street near several restaurants and businesses. Traffic was rererouted through Park Street to Parkthrough Street.

The Cary Fire Department and police responded to the gas leak in the area of 321 W. Chatham St. The leak was connected to road construction, police said.
