Raleigh’s International Festival canceled as fears about coronavirus spread
A major Triangle festival and event has canceled its plans this weekend over fears of the coronavirus.
The 2020 International Festival has postponed its weekend festivities at least a year for the safety of its attendees and participants, according to the festival’s website.
The 34th annual event was originally planned for this weekend at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.
“Due to the possible risk of virus spread, we have decided to postpone this year’s event,” according to the festival’s website.

State and local leaders confirmed North Carolina’s first case Tuesday after a man traveled to Washington state and was exposed to COVID-19 at a nursing home that has seen an outbreak of the virus.
The re-scheduled date of the festival is Feb. 26-28, 2021.
