Police are investigating a Wednesday-night shooting on North Taylor Street that left a 22-year-old man dead.

Wake Forest officers arrived at the 300 block at about 10 p.m. and found Myles Anthony Wilson wounded by gunfire. He later died at WakeMed.

Wilson lived on Pine Avenue a few blocks east, police said. Officers are continuing their investigation Thursday morning and do not believe the shooting was a random act, town spokesman Bill Crabtree said.

North Taylor Street is residential and sits a few blocks from the main area of downtown.
