Driver cited after crash involving a Wake County sheriff’s deputy
The driver of an SUV that was involved in a crash with a Wake County sheriff’s deputy on Thursday was cited for “failing to stop at a solid red light,” the sheriff’s office said.
The deputy and also the driver and passenger in the SUV were taken to local hospitals after the crash about 12:30 p.m. at South and Dawson streets in downtown Raleigh.
Deputy Jenny Critcher was driving east on South Street, the sheriff’s office said, when the vehicle she was driving struck a Jeep Cherokee that was traveling south on Dawson Street.
