Pirelli Brings Its New P Zero Family To Goodwood, With More Than 300 Homologations
Since 2023, the P Zero family has been completely renewed, and Pirelli chose Goodwood to show just how broadly the new generation has been adopted. The lineup now spans everything from efficiency-minded electric tires to semi-slick rubber for record-chasing hypercars, all sharing a focus on performance, driving pleasure, and safety. With more than 300 approvals already logged, the range has quickly worked its way onto a long list of newly launched cars, several of which were on display or climbing the hill in England.
A bespoke tire for the Ferrari Luce
One of the standouts is a bespoke P Zero E developed for the new Ferrari Luce. The tire pairs high performance with more than 55% bio-based and recycled materials and low rolling resistance, all in a record-setting 24-inch size. It is a neat encapsulation of where premium tires are heading, blending sustainability targets with the grip and efficiency a modern high-performance car demands.
The sharp end: P Zero Trofeo RS
Representing the most extreme end of the range is the semi-slick c, which turned up on some seriously fast machinery. It is fitted to the Bentley Supersports, the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Manthey Kit, and the BMW M2 with the M Performance Track Kit, among others.
The Trofeo RS also appears on the Pagani Utopia Roadster, which holds the distinction of being the first car to adopt Pirelli's Cyber Tire, a technology that uses integrated sensors to enable the tire to communicate directly with the car's electronic systems. The same tire underpins the Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear megacar, and in a lighter moment, a drivable LEGO Technic replica of that car set a speed record for a LEGO vehicle on the Goodwood Hill Climb, reaching 69 mph.
Luxury on P Zero Elect
At the comfort and luxury end, the Rolls-Royce Spectre and the Jaguar Type 01 ride on P Zero Elect tires, developed specifically for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. Both cars also run large-diameter tires of up to 23 inches, a reminder that wheel sizes keep climbing as electric luxury models add weight and design ambition.
From the track to the road
Every tire in the family traces its roots to motorsport, which Pirelli treats as an open-air laboratory. Through involvement in more than 350 racing events a year, the company develops innovations, including virtual development methods, that eventually filter down to road-tire production. It is no accident that the tires Pirelli supplies to the world's top racing series, starting with Formula 1, also wear the P Zero name, which is exactly the link the brand wanted to underline at Goodwood.
