2027 Kia Seltos Gets More Expensive, But Still Starts Under $25,000
Revamped Seltos Arriving Soon
The 2027 Kia Seltos is arriving this summer with a boxier design, more tech, and a step up in overall feel compared to the outgoing model. Autoblog had the chance to drive it in South Korea, and it was clear that the Seltos has grown up. The cabin materials are better, the back seat is more practical, and the hybrid quietly stands out if you care about efficiency.
However, we still don't know how much the 2027 Seltos will cost. Fortunately, CarsDirect got a hold of Kia's ordering guide, giving us an early look at pricing per variant. As expected, the new Seltos costs more than before, but Kia hasn't pushed the base price out of reach. Even with the increase, the 2027 Seltos starts at $24,990 before destination, so it stays just under $25,000.
Pricing Climbs Across The Lineup
The ordering guide shows that prices are up across almost every trim. The base LX FWD goes up by $1,200, and the EX FWD sees the biggest jump among two-wheel-drive models at $1,900, which is just over seven percent. All-wheel drive now comes with a bigger premium, too, with the LX AWD costing $1,700 more than the front-wheel-drive version. There's also a new X-Line SX trim at the top, which gives the Seltos lineup a more rugged-looking flagship.
Even with higher prices, the Seltos is still set up to compete hard in the subcompact crossover segment. Starting at $24,990, it undercuts the Honda HR-V and sits close to the Toyota Corolla Cross, while offering more space, better tech, and a more refined feel than before.
The Hybrid Could Quietly Be The Sweet Spot
The hybrid is still the wildcard. Kia hasn't announced pricing yet, but if they follow the pattern from other models, expect the hybrid Seltos to cost about $1,700 more than the gas version. That would put the entry-level hybrid close to $27,000.
After our experience with the 2027 Seltos in Korea, it feels like the one to watch if fuel economy matters to you. It's not the fastest, but it handles daily driving without fuss and delivers better mileage than expected during our test. If Kia prices it right, the Seltos Hybrid could be the standout in a crowded field of small crossovers.
