Triangle shopping centers get first-to-market stores. Here’s when they’ll open
AI-generated summary reviewed by our newsroom.
- Aritzia and Gorjana open first Triangle stores at Southpoint by September.
- Maeve opens first standalone store at Village District in Raleigh by October.
- Publix, Burlington and Reeds Jewelers expand Triangle retail footprint in 2025.
The next few months will mark several retail “firsts” in the Triangle.
Aritzia, a Canadian retailer selling products for men and women under house and name-brand labels, will open its first central North Carolina location by September at The Streets at Southpoint.
The only other Aritzia in North Carolina is in Charlotte.
Slated for a September opening, the jewelry brand Gorjana is also making its Triangle debut at the Durham mall. Gorjana has one other North Carolina store — in Charlotte.
These two brands are the latest retailers entering the Triangle market via Southpoint. Vuori, a clothing brand inspired by “the active Coastal California lifestyle,” opened there earlier this year.
But the Triangle has also been tapped as the home of the first-ever Maeve brick-and-mortar. The store, to open at Raleigh’s Village District (formerly Cameron Village) in early October, will sell products under the Anthropologie label of the same name.
Maeve is one of Anthropologie’s most popular brands, having been purchased by almost 2 million customers over the past year, the company said.
“Maeve has emerged as a true driver of growth within Anthropologie’s portfolio,” Anu Narayanan, president of women’s and home at Anthropologie Group, said in a news release. “Its consistent performance, combined with our customers’ emotional connection to the brand, made this the right moment to evolve Maeve into a standalone identity.”
These national retailers receive plenty of media attention, but they’re not the only stores opening soon in the area. Here’s what else Triangle shoppers can expect to see in coming months.

New jewelry store at Fenton
It’s not just Village District and Southpoint that are welcoming new tenants.
Fenton, the mixed-use Cary development, will have a new jewelry store by the end of 2025. Reeds Jewelers is taking more than 7,000 square feet at Fenton, and will be located at 201 Fenton Gateway Drive.
Reeds Jewelers was founded in Wilmington in 1946. It now operates stores in 13 states, and has locations at Crabtree Valley Mall and Triangle Town Center in Raleigh and The Streets at Southpoint in Durham.
Their exceptional selection of fine diamonds, jewelry and high-end watches, combined with their reputation for outstanding customer service, makes them a perfect fit for our community of shoppers seeking quality and craftsmanship,” Paul Zarian, managing director at Fenton, said in a news release.
Several other brands, including restaurants, have been announced for Fenton:

- Yoga Six (expected opening winter 2025)
