Forbes published its 10th-annual lists of the best large and midsize employers in the country, and several companies based in North Carolina are included.

To make the list, the publication partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 217,000 employees working at U.S. companies that employ 1,000-5,000 people or more than 5,000 people, respectively, for midsize and large categories. The final lists came to 498 midsize employers and 701 large employers.

Employees were asked whether they would recommend their employer to others and rated it on criteria including salary, work environment, training programs and opportunities to advance. The ranking also included survey data from the last three years, with more recent data weighted more.
