Starting at $1.8M, new condos coming to the edge of Raleigh’s historic Hayes Barton
On the edge of Raleigh’s historic Hayes Barton, a new neighborhood is coming with an exclusive price tag.
Developed by Raleigh-based Beacon Street Development, Birney Park is a four-part residential community of “boutique” condominiums and townhomes at 1 Birney Park in the Five Points area, just northwest of downtown.
At the corner of Oberlin and Fairview roads, where “Hayes Barton meets Country Club Hills,” the 2.9-acre site sits adjacent to specialty coffee shop IdleHour Coffee Roasters. It’s also part of a larger planned community, Budleigh East, currently under development as reported by Triangle Business Journal.
But unlike Budleigh, which is the redevelopment of Country Club Homes and includes a senior-living community, Birney Park targets a wider audience. Marketed as a mix of London-clustered-village cool and Parisian chic, it embraces “classicism for a new era,” said Beacon Street Development president Jim Wiley in a release.
Construction will begin on the anchor residential building, The Brightbury, later this year. It’s expected to be complete in late 2025, the developer said.
Residences start at $1.8 million and are now preselling.
Designed by Historical Concepts, the Brightbury offers six floor plans for two- to three- bedrooms, ranging from 1,702 to 2,719 square feet.
Each home features 10-foot ceilings, chef’s kitchens, formal living areas and primary suites with double closets.
Would-be buyers get to consult Kara Cox Interiors throughout the design process, the firm said.
They’ll also have access to the building’s amenities: rooftop terrace, formal lobby and portico, fitness studio, club room and underground parking.
The project’s subsequent phases include City Homes, eight townhomes; The Caroline, 12 “pied-à-terre-style” residences; and The Elizabeth, seven “above-shop” condos.
