A beloved coffee shop is finally making its way to the Tar Heel state.

Dutch Bros Coffee is officially expanding to the Triangle with a new location in Morrisville — the very first in North Carolina.

The popular chain started out as a pushcart in Oregon when Dane and Travis Boersma ditched the dairy business to “serve up espresso, rock their favorite music and make connections with their community” in 1992, according to its website.

Now, the brand has grown to more than 1,000 locations across 24 states.

Now, you’ll be able to get a taste of its specialty coffee, smoothies, teas, freezes, lemonade and energy drink at 971 Morrisville Parkway in Park West Village near Trader Joe’s.

The new coffee shop, which has a pick-up window and drive-thru, had its grand opening Thursday, Dec. 11, with a special $3 deal on medium-sized drinks for customers that day.
