Waffle fry fanatics will soon have a new place to enjoy the hot, savory treats.

A new Chick-fil-A is opening in Apex. This will be the brand’s second for the town, joining more than 50 locations across Raleigh, Durham and surrounding areas.

Local owner-operator Tony Holmes, also behind the Apex location on Beaver Creek Commons Drive, is the franchise owner of the new restaurant.

Holmes grew up in Apex just miles from the new location. He first became a Chick-fil-A owner-operator in 1999, with a restaurant in Chapel Hill.

“Apex is a special place for me and my family,” Holmes said in a news release. “My wife’s family has over 100 years of heritage here, and this community truly feels like home.”

Here’s what to know about the new Apex location.

When will the restaurant open?

Chick-fil-A Peakway, located at 1001 S. Hughes St. in Apex, opens at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18.

Its regular operating hours for dine-in, carry-out and delivery will be 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

Drive-thru and mobile thru hours are 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday.

The Hughes Street store, which will employ about 100 full- and part-time team members, has a dedicated lane for “mobile thru,” which is a drive-thru lane for customers who order ahead using the Chick-fil-A app.

Giving back to the community

Chick-fil-A, which often offers customers free menu items including drinks, hash browns and even chicken sandwiches, also has a tradition of donating food and funds to local nonprofits and individuals.

To celebrate the Apex store opening, Chick-fil-A donated $25,000 to Feeding America, the restaurant shared in a press release. The funds will be distributed to Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

The new Apex store is also participating in the brand’s Shared Table program, which redirects extra food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits.

Chick-fil-A is honoring 100 “local heroes” who are making a difference in the Apex area by giving them free entrees for a year.
