NFL Hall of Famer’s North Carolina restaurant among best new spots in America, Yelp says
A newer addition to Charlotte’s food scene has been named one of the best new restaurants across the nation.
Yelp revealed the country’s top 25 dining spots offering “delicious dining adventures” based on total volume and ratings of reviews, including one in North Carolina: Catalina Kitchen + Bar.
“Fancy but familiar, the newest outpost of NFL legend Mike Ditka’s restaurant group is this trendy scratch kitchen, which Yelpers call ‘perfect for a date or gals night.’ High-end dining fare like handmade tagliatelle with scallops, lump crab, and shrimp come together with more casual options like poke-topped harvest bowls,” Yelp’s report says.
The restaurant, nestled in the Elizabeth neighborhood, is known for serving “coastal comfort food” like housemade pasta, fresh fish, salads, sandwiches and more, along with locally crafted beer, handcrafted cocktails and over 60 wines to enjoy at a cozy table, the wrap-around bar or on the patio.
“I cannot believe this place is a newer restaurant. Absolutely amazing and operating as if they have years of experience,” a Yelp Elite member said. “Stylish interior, excellent customer service from each employee, and the food and drinks were delicious. My party of 4 left full, happy, and ready to try more items.”
Catalina Kitchen + Bar was the only North Carolina spot to make Yelp’s rankings of the best new dining spots, which were determined using several factors, including the total volume and ratings of reviews.
