After nearly four years vacant, one of the most prominent restaurant spaces at Durham’s Streets at Southpoint Mall has been taken over by a vibrant new concept.

The upscale Asian restaurant CO has expanded into Durham with a new location. This marks the brand’s seventh restaurant, with other locations including Raleigh’s North Hills, Charlotte, and Charleston, S.C. Charleston-based restaurant group Collected owns CO.

In Durham, CO takes over the former Zinburger space in the outdoor section of Southpoint, a popular wine and burger bar that closed early in the COVID-19 pandemic and never reopened.

CO first moved into the Triangle with its North Hills restaurant in early 2018.

CO menu

The menu spans Asian cuisines and highlights the flavors of Southeast Asia, with dishes like Vietnamese pho and Thai green curry. You’ll also find sushi and poke bowls, chicken wings marinated in coconut milk and tender pork belly buns.

The Durham Co is open Monday through Saturday for dinner and plans to start lunch service June 6.
